About the speakers:

Beverly Lewis-Hunte (she/her) BAA, CIP– After graduating from the University of Toronto with an undergraduate degree in Geography and Urban Studies she continued her studies at Ryerson University and graduated in the second degree in Urban planning.

Changing direction she started her insurance career at TD Insurance then Chubb Insurance and then moved to the education side of the business by working with the Insurance Institute of Canada. Enjoying her time with the IIC she transitioned to a few roles leading to the current one she holds with Career Connections, a division of the Insurance Institute of Canada, which is dedicated to improving the understanding of insurance and the essential role it plays in society through engagement with students and career seekers.

Shirley M. Chisholm, FCIP, CRM - Shirley Chisholm is Senior Vice President with Marsh Canada with responsibilities for Client Management in the Financial Services Practice.

She is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), a Certified Risk Manager (CRM), has a Business Management Certificate (Schulich School of Business).  

Shirley is an author and volunteers as a Career Ambassador with the Insurance Institute of Ontario, and with DECA’ Regional and National competitions. Shirley received the National Role Model award from the Diversity Advancement Network in 2016 and was recognized by Business Insurance as the 2020 Top 100 Global Insurance Broker.  In 2021 Shirley received the Leader of Change Award from Business Insurance Canada.  Shirley’s dream is the actualization of diversity, inclusion and belonging in the industry.
